Salvation is a gift. It is given by God. It is not given on the basis of merit or worthiness. But rather, salvation is given in response to faith (which is itself a gift). Those who have it need not boast; they are simply recipients of grace, recipients of his love and power. However true, this is, also it is important to recognise that that does not make it a call to passive indifference. Grace brings transformation. We (if we belong to Christ) have been made new. Everything done by the first Adam (Adam) has been undone by the second Adam Jesus. Put simply, through Jesus we have been equipped and empowered to live life in such a way that brings glory to God and has a positive impact on the world around us. In short; we have been created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God has prepared for us. May our lives be characterised by good works that bring glory to God and help make known the name of his Son.
