"God wants his people to become like Christ, because Christ likeness is the will of God for all of God's people."
Scripture clearly calls the people of God to be Christ like. (Read Romans 8:29, 2 Corinthians 3:18, 1 John 3:2) This end is indeed the goal of everything in the Christian life. We are saved as it were; not simply to go to heaven, but rather to be restored to the image of God.Jesus is the undoing of Adam. That is; what Jesus was, as a man, is God's intention for all humanity. So that the life, death and resurrection of Christ was all about remaking and remolding people into the image of God. People like Jesus.
Over the next couple of builetin's I am going to talk about differnt ways in which we are to be Christ like. But for now: reflect on the verses above. Think deeply about them and pray that God might mold you into the image of his beautiful son for that is what you were destined for. Ask yourself: "How can I become more Christ like?"
Grace to you from Marcus
