What do I mean by "incarnation?" Simply what God did in Christ by taking on human flesh. Of course it should be said; that the incarnation is a once and for all time event that can never be repeated. So what do I mean by saying that we should be Christ like in incarnation? Simply that we ought to pursue the willful descent that Christ embraced in taking on human flesh. Paul puts it like this:
In your relationships with one another, have the same attitude of mind Christ Jesus had:
Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a human being,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death-
even death on a cross!
We are called to imitate Christ in our humility toward one another.
Are you living in a way that reflects Christ's humility in your relationships?
