CHURCH NEWS - Sunday, 25 September 2011 |
The Real Jesus"Therefore, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, it seemed good also to me to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught." (Luke 1:3-4) Luke in his writing of his gospel account affirms his commitment to recording what he saw and was an eyewitness too in the life of Jesus. To him it mattered that people know with certainty who Jesus was, what he did and what he had come to do. He wanted subsequent generations to know the real Jesus. Possibly he was aware of our tendency to remake God to conform to our image of him- instead of letting God be God. So do you know the real Jesus, the Jesus of the Gospels? Can I encourage you to get to know him? Can I encourage you to open up a Gospel and read it afresh and ask the Spirit to reveal to you the glory of the real Jesus. Grace and peace from Marcus |

"Creating Safe Spaces" SeminarsAttention all Children's and Youth Ministry Leaders/Helpers, Church Elders and anyone else who would like to go.... "Creating Safe Spaces" Introductory Workshop will be on Sat 29 Oct 9:00am - 3:00pm at The Musgrave's house 29 Mason Rd Box Hill. Cost: $25 "Creating Safe Spaces" Refresher Course will be on Sunday 30 Oct 6:30pm - 9:30pm at the Reid's house. Cost $15 Please see Reem to find out which seminar to attend. It is a Baptist Union Standard that all Church Elders and Children's/Youth Leaders and Helpers attend these seminars. Let's be equipped to best serve and protect the precious children in our church. |
